Truth to Tell about the End of Life (Assisted Dying, Terminal Care)
This seminar looks at some of the painful and complex ethical issues at the end of life. There is increasing pressure for a change in the law to allow doctors to give lethal poisons to those who wish to die. At the same time many older people fear the prospect of dependence, disability or dementia. Is suicide ever a Christian option? What does it mean to die well and to die faithfully, in the light of Christian hope? How should medical decisions be made in terminal illness and how can the Christian community support those who are facing death?
