The Example of Jesus : Self-Seeking or Self Sacrifice

In Mark's Gospel the disciples are blind to the call of Christ. We see this particularly as they long for power, when Jesus calls them to service, and they long for glory, when Jesus calls them to humility. This means that Christian discipleship leaves us with a daily choice "not to be served, but to serve", Mark 10 v 45.
