Jesus won a private victory in Gethsemane, well before the public victory at Calvary. Victory may sometimes look like defeat. However, every time our will gives way to God's will, even at the cost of our lives, it is always reckoned as victory in Heaven. There are valuable lessons about about overcoming temptation, suffering, discipleship and more we can learn from this text.
