Head of Operations

The Beacon Church is a lively, informal church that has grown rapidly in the past 6 months and recently expanded to 2 services to accommodate this. Around 350 people currently attend their Sunday services (9:30am and 11:30am) at The Village Hotel in Farnborough, where they welcome an unusually high number of first-time visitors.

They are looking for an experienced, capable, and people-focused Head of Operations to join their senior leadership team and help create the systems, structures, and culture that will enable the church to thrive.

Details:

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Ideally, it’s a full-time role, but if you are only available part-time, please do apply)

Salary: £40,000 to £47,000 depending on experience

Location: The Beacon Church, Berkshire Rd, Camberley GU15 4DG

‍Role Overview:

As Head of Operations, you will oversee the day-to-day operational and administrative life of the church, leading the Operations Team and working closely with the Senior Pastor, ministry leaders, staff and volunteers. You will bring clarity to complexity, structure to growth and excellence to execution.

Your responsibilities will span a broad range of areas, including:

  • Strategic & operational leadership – developing scalable systems and processes that support church growth, leading projects and events, and helping turn the church’s vision into practical plans.

  • Venues & logistics – overseeing weekly services, events, venue arrangements, logistics and contracts, while helping us plan for larger venues, multiple services and ultimately a permanent facility.

  • Facilities – overseeing the maintenance, improvement and effective use of church buildings and grounds.

  • Finance – working alongside the finance team and trustees on budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and maintaining healthy financial systems.

  • People & volunteers – overseeing staff recruitment, onboarding and development, and building systems and teams that enable volunteers to serve effectively.

  • Risk & compliance – ensuring appropriate systems are in place across safeguarding, health and safety, GDPR, charity regulations and wider operational risk.

  • Technology & systems – ensuring our IT, databases, software and communication systems are effective, secure and fit for purpose.
